Role Overview

MTI – Master the Interview is seeking a Lead Generation / Appointment Setter Intern to support early-stage business development. This internship is a learning-focused, mentorship-driven opportunity designed for two groups:

  • Students seeking internship credit and hands-on experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or sales

  • Parents and caregivers returning to the workforce after time away for childcare or family caregiving

We understand that a career gap for caregiving is too often treated as a liability rather than what it is: time spent on equally demanding, valuable work. This internship is built to help you re-enter the workforce with confidence, gain modern, in-demand skills, and open the door to a new career path — regardless of how long you've been out.

Interns will learn how to identify potential client leads, conduct outreach, organize CRM data, and support appointment setting for the Founder, in a structured, supported environment with real mentorship at every stage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Research — Identify potential client leads using MTI's criteria and industry segments

  • Outbound Outreach — Send personalized messages to prospects via email, LinkedIn, and MTI's communication templates

  • Appointment Setting — Book discovery calls and maintain a consistent follow-up rhythm

  • CRM Tracking — Maintain MTI's internal tracking system to ensure clean data and organized pipelines

  • Pipeline Management — Move leads through stages, flag warm opportunities, and maintain visibility for the Founder

  • Weekly Reporting — Provide a simple weekly summary of outreach volume, responses, and booked calls

Required Skills & Qualities

  • Strong written communication

  • Comfortable sending outreach messages

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • Able to follow structured workflows

  • Professional, reliable, and consistent

  • Tech-comfortable (Google Workspace, spreadsheets, LinkedIn)

  • No specific work-history requirement — we welcome candidates re-entering the workforce after a career pause

Schedule & Hours

  • Unpaid internship, eligible for academic internship credit (documentation provided upon request)

  • Up to 20 hours per week

  • Fully remote

  • Flexible scheduling — designed to work around school, childcare, or caregiving responsibilities

  • Weekly check-ins and mentorship with the Founder

Growth Pathway at MTI

This internship builds foundational skills in lead generation, outreach, CRM discipline, and appointment setting. Interns who demonstrate strong communication, consistency, and ownership may be considered for one of two growth paths at MTI — there's no single "right" direction, and both are open based on fit and interest.

Development Stages

  • Foundational Stage — Learn MTI's outreach systems, CRM discipline, messaging frameworks, and lead qualification criteria

  • Performance Stage — Demonstrate consistent outreach volume, clean pipeline management, and reliable appointment setting

  • Readiness Stage — Build confidence in communication, warm lead nurturing, and representing MTI's value proposition

Two Paths Forward

  • Recruiter (RPO) Track — 1099 independent contractor role, $25–$30/hour, full-cycle recruiting work

  • Sales Partner Track — 1099 independent contractor role, 100% commission-based, relationship-driven business development and client acquisition

Compensation Clarification

  • Internship (Aug–Dec 2026): Unpaid, learning-based, up to 20 hrs/week

  • Recruiter (RPO) Role: $25–$30/hour, 1099 independent contractor

  • Sales Partner Role: 100% commission, 1099 independent contractor — earnings based solely on closed client revenue; no hourly, salary, or base pay

This internship does not guarantee future paid work or conversion to any other role at MTI. It is designed as a genuine skill-building opportunity in its own right — with the added possibility of long-term growth for those who want it.

MTI is an equal opportunity organization and welcomes applicants of all backgrounds, including those re-entering the workforce after a career pause.
